Shahram Hejazi is a life science investor/entrepreneur with executive general management experience in early-stage ventures and large global companies. Over his 20+ year career, Shahram has founded and/or directed the growth of more than a dozen startup companies. As a Venture Partner with BioAdvance, where he leads investments in medical technologies, research tools and health IT, Shahram serves on the Board of 6 portfolio companies. He is also the founder and CEO of Optimeos Life Sciences, former James Wei Visiting Professor of Entrepreneurship and current Lecturer in Entrepreneurship at Princeton University. Before this, he was the President of Kodak's life science division, where he had global responsibility for R&D, manufacturing, operations, sales, marketing and service. Before Kodak, he was the CEO of Zargis Medical Corp. (a Siemens spinoff) where he led the company from raising capital and the technology development to completion of several clinical trials, and successful FDA regulatory approval. Prior to Zargis, Shahram was the Head of the Strategic Business Development at Siemens medical and held R&D management positions at Kodak and IBM (Yorktown Heights). Shahram has a PhD in electrical engineering with emphasis in biophysics (SUNY) and an executive business education (Stanford).
