Workshop: Market Research & Library Resources

Date and Time:
Location: Entrepreneurial Hub, Event Room 115

The Keller Center is pleased to welcome Willow Dressel, Engineering Librarian, and Ashley Faulkner, Interdisciplinary Quantitative Research Librarian, to the Entrepreneurial Hub on Thursday, March 30th. Willow and Ashley will present a workshop on market research and the various resources available at the Princeton University Libraries. This workshop is open to all Princeton undergraduate and graduate students and postdocs. Registration is required and dinner will be served.

This session will cover basic concepts and resources essential to early startup research.  Particular areas of emphasis will include industry and market research: How do you obtain essential background information about your industry and its outlook?  Who are your major competitors?  How do you determine the existing market size and segmentation?  Who is your target customer and where can you connect with them?  The librarians will also briefly touch on resources related to idea generation, intellectual property, funding, and social entrepreneurship considerations.  There will be time for individual research and questions.

Prior to coming to the workshop, attendees should feel free to browse through the library guide for entrepreneurs and come prepared with specific questions.
