Heading to Tel Aviv? Don’t forget your passport… and lots of sun screen!

It’s a quiet day on campus, outside the snow and cold weather make me long for those warm summer days on the beaches of Tel Aviv. I spent last summer working as a Program Coordinator for Princeton Startup Immersion Program (PSIP) and can easily recall the beautiful 95 degree days, the cool breeze of the Mediterranean Sea on my face, and the lovely culture that defines Tel Aviv.

It’s not just the weather that draws you in, there is a culture of informality that is very charming.  Start getting used to speaking your mind, whether it’s to your co-worker or your boss. Tel Aviv, it is all about straightforwardness, in the office or the street, let’s just say you’ll get a lot of free “life tips” whether you asked for them or not.

Your taste buds will also have to readjust, as you enjoy the delicious diet of the Mediterranean.   Tel Aviv has plenty of different food options, so come curious to try new things.

Be sure to leave your blazer and khakis in Princeton. Dressing up in Tel Aviv means a T-shirt, instead of tank top and sneakers instead of flip-flops. If this casual ‘vacation’ like lifestyle sounds good to you consider applying for PSIP Israel for summer 2018.  Did I mention the amazing white sand beaches?
