FAQ

I AM AN INCOMING FRESHMAN, AND ALTHOUGH MY MAJOR IS UNDECLARED/UNDECIDED, I AM INTERESTED IN THE ENTREPRENEURSHIP CERTIFICATE. WHAT IS AN OPTIMAL COURSE MAP FOR THE PROGRAM?

Please see the courses listed in the Requirements for courses. Two common introductory courses: EGR 200 and EGR 201. Two core courses: must be chosen from a list, which may be updated each year by the Executive Committee. One contextual breadth course: to be chosen from a list of suggestions or be proposed by students to the program director.

HOW/WHEN CAN I GET INTO CERTIFICATE?

Admission to the certificate is offered  in Spring for sophomores, who have successfully completed at least 2 of the required classes.

I AM A SENIOR AND I'D LIKE TO BE BELATEDLY ADMITTED INTO THE ENTREPRENEURSHIP CERTIFICATE PROGRAM. CAN I STILL GET IN?

No.  You must be admitted into the certificate during or before February of your junior year.  This is so you can complete the practicum proposal in April of your junior year, and complete the practicum presentation the following April during your senior year. You will be paired with a program adviser, who can offer feedback on your practicum plans.

CAN I TAKE ANY OF THE COURSES AS PDF?

No, all courses must be taken for a letter grade. The only exception is if PDF is the only option.

WHAT ELSE IS REQUIRED TO RECEIVE THIS CERTIFICATE?

Along with the course work required, Workshop (practical skill acquisition), Practicum (learning by doing, with a high bar of excellence) and Colloquium (shared social experience) are also required to receive the Entrepreneurship certificate upon graduation.

DO I NEED TO BE IN A SPECIFIC MAJOR TO APPLY FOR THE ENTREPRENEURSHIP CERTIFICATE?

No, as long as you fulfill all the requirements you will receive the certificate upon graduation.
