Princeton Startup Immersion Program (PSIP) is an immersive summer program for talented students seeking real-world experience at emerging startups in New York City, Shanghai, and Tel Aviv.

New York City

  • Live as a cohort within the heart of New York City in University-sponsored housing
  • Attend weekly entrepreneurship talks given by experienced leaders. Past speakers have included:

Shanghai

  • Live as a cohort in the Xu Hui District in central Shanghai in University-sponsored housing
  • Attend weekly entrepreneurship talks given by experienced leaders. Past speakers have included:

    • Tao Zhang, Founder and CEO of Dianping
    • James Liang, Founder and CEO of cTrip
    • David Ye, Co-Founder and CEO of Rong360

  • Enjoy overnight trip to Beijing where you’ll camp on the Great Wall, admire the natural scenery and history of Hangzhou and visit headquarters of Alibaba, largest e-commerce company in China, hone your bargaining skills on Nanjing Road, explore the Yu Garden, scale the Oriental Pearl, cruise along the Huangpu River on an evening boat ride with Shanghai-based Princeton alumni, weekly Chinese language lessons and more!

Tel Aviv

  • Live as a cohort in central Tel Aviv in University-sponsored housing
  • Attend weekly entrepreneurship talks given by experienced leaders. Past speakers have included:

    • Dror Shimoni, Co-Founder and CTO of Honeybook
    • Yariv Lotan, Head of Strategic Sector Development, Startup Nation Central

  • Enjoy overnight trips to Tiberias and Sea of Galilee and to the Negev Desert, embark on day trips to historic Jerusalem, and explore the grottoes and caves of Rosh Hanikra, hone your bargaining skills in Jaffa Gate, find the best places for hummus and shawarma and more!
  • $4,500 stipend

Eligibility

  • Princeton University graduate students (with email approval from your faculty advisor in order to apply)
  • Princeton University undergraduate (first year, sophomore and junior) students at the time of application
  • All majors/disciplines are welcome and encouraged to apply
  • Individual listings may have additional company-specific requirements

2019 Program Dates

New York City

  • Application period: November 5 - December 1, 2018 at 11:59 pm

  • Students are invited to interview: by December 12, 2018

  • Students interview with startup: December 17 - 21, 2018 (video call) or January 7 - 11, 2019 (in person)

  • Decisions announced: by January 16, 2019

  • Students return binding commitment letter: within 5 days of receiving an internship offer

  • Move in: June 2, 2019
  • Internship dates: June 3 - August 9, 2019
  • Move out: August 10, 2019

Shanghai

  • Application period: November 5 - December 1, 2018 at 11:59 pm

  • Students are invited to interview: by December 12, 2018

  • Students interview with startup: December 17 - 21, 2018 (video call)

  • Decisions announced: by January 4, 2019

  • Students return binding commitment letter: within 5 days of receiving an internship offer

  • Arrive: June 10, 2019
  • Orientation week: June 10 - 16, 2019
  • Internship dates: June 17 - August 16, 2019
  • Depart: August 17, 2019

Tel Aviv

  • Application period: November 5 - December 1, 2018 at 11:59 pm

  • Students are invited to interview: by December 12, 2018

  • Students interview with startup: December 17 - 21, 2018 (video call)

  • Decisions announced: by January 4, 2019

  • Students return binding commitment letter: within 5 days of receiving an internship offer

  • Arrive: Tuesday, June 11, 2019 (by 4 pm, last airport shuttle pickup)
  • Orientation week: June 12 - 15, 2019
  • Internship dates: June 16 - August 15, 2019
  • Depart: Last day for check out is August 18, 2019

When applications are being accepted here's how to apply:

  • View the list of internships
  • You may apply to up to two internships, and may only apply to a single city
  • Provide a cover letter, resume and response to the startup’s challenge puzzle. The challenge puzzle is intended to demonstrate your creativity, problem solving and writing skills and, where appropriate, your technical ability. It typically takes 5 hours to complete.
