Your ability to communicate effectively will be an essential element of your professional and personal success. While most people can talk, very few are well versed in what effective communication entails.

These workshops, which take place on two consecutive weeks, are designed to equip and prepare you to become an effective communicator irrespective of the context—whether it’s presenting in class, interviewing for a job, conversations with colleagues, or addressing a large audience.

In this, the second of two workshops, we will cover:

  • How to make your presentation memorable
  • Finding and crafting your own unique style
  • Tips for excelling at interviews

Join Dr. Anita Sands, a former national speaking champion, and the incoming James Wei Visiting Professor, for a two-part series of special workshops in which you’ll learn the foundations of effective communication along with having a unique opportunity to practice your craft. Upon completion of two curriculum sessions, workshop attendees will be invited to record a short video of themselves which will be reviewed by Dr. Sands in small group settings.

If there is one skill that will pay daily dividends for the rest of your life, it is communication! This is an investment worth making and a workshop not to be missed!

Requests for accommodations can be made when you register to attend. Please provide at least 7 days advance notice.
