The Princeton Production Workforce Training (PPWT) is an educational initiative designed to open pathways into the technical theater industry for aspiring professionals from undeserved and underrepresented communities. Housed within the Lewis Center for the Arts at Princeton University, the program offers a four-week residency that combines intensive training in technical lighting, sound, and wardrobe with job readiness workshops focused on resume building, interview preparation, and workplace safety. Participants receive hourly compensation, a travel stipend, daily breakfast and lunch, and a starter toolkit of essential equipment to support their entry into the field. By removing financial and logistical barriers, PPWT aims to equip participants with the skills, confidence, and resources needed to succeed in a dynamic and attainable profession.
