Internship Description

The Hesai Perception Group takes on the challenging problems within self-driving systems. We develop new algorithms, perform testing and experiments, and aim to build a self-perception system in the real-world: detection/classification across many types of objects, tracking, segmentation and sensor fusion, etc.

In this role, you will:

  • Research new perception models and algorithms based on LIDAR.
  • Research new sensor fusion models and algorithms.
  • Collaborate on deploying these models on real vehicles.
  • Develop in Python/C++/C.

At Hesai, interns work on tasks that are similar to those of full-time team members.

Additional Requirements

We'd like you to have:

  • A strong math foundation.
  • Experience in data structures.
  • Experience programming in Python/C++/C.
  • Experience in Perception based on LIDAR, Deep Learning, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Sensor Fusion, or similar is preferred.
  • Spoken Chinese is helpful but not required.

This is an in-person opportunity only, remote work cannot be supported.  (NOTE: Princeton's decision to allow or not allow in-person summer opportunities and international travel will be made in Spring 2021)
