As an expert in inclusive design and universal product development, De Nichols inspires global changemakers to address digital inequities, spatial injustices, and cultural challenges. She currently leads Google’s Culture Lab UX Research team, which drives accessibility, genAI fairness, and product inclusion across its YouTube platform to improve product experiences of creators, viewers, and music artists. 

De is the author of Art of Protest (2021), an award-winning creative non-fiction young adult book which teaches and celebrates the power of art in building social movements. She is also a Loeb Fellow of Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design and a Transnational Fellow with Monument Lab. De is formerly a Core Organizer of the global Design as Protest collective and Chair of the Board of Directors at The Griot Museum of Black History in St. Louis, MO. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in communications design from Washington University in St. Louis and earned her Master of Social Work in social entrepreneurship from its Brown School of Social Work.
