The Institutional Wellness Dashboard is a novel software tool designed to combat physician burnout by translating complex well-being metrics into the familiar language of healthcare system dashboards. Leveraging machine learning and a unique economic model, it integrates objective data (e.g., productivity metrics, turnover rates) and subjective survey inputs to visualize burnout’s organizational impact. It identifies economic losses, operational inefficiencies, and root causes while recommending actionable interventions. Currently deployed across eight major academic medical centers, the project seeks Design for Impact support to explore multiple pathways to impact, including both institutional strategy and national health policy.
