Design research supports design practice by helping better understand the audience and make more informed decisions based on evidence. This course introduces research methods that are often used throughout the design process. You will learn core issues in research design, and a variety of methods and techniques to collect, analyze and synthesize qualitative data drawing from social sciences, anthropology, participatory design, and human computer interaction. Students will put methods into practice deepening the understanding of human-centered research and will have a basic set of skills for designing and conducting design research projects.
