Speaker Bios

Marcy Shinder is an award-winning global Chief Marketing Officer, business leader and board director with deep expertise in marketing, digital and governance. Recognized for transformative growth at large companies and fast-growing startups, Marcy brings an accountable, agile, results-oriented approach to executive leadership.

Marcy serves on the Board of Directors of CarMax (NYSE: KMX), the U.S.’s largest used-car retailer and a Fortune 500 company. Joining in April 2015, she serves on the Nominating and Governance Committee and previously Audit Committee. In 2018 she was recognized by Women, Inc as a Most Influential Corporate Director. She is currently an Advisor to Charlesbank Capital Partners, a leading private equity firm with over $6B in assets under management and a reputation for integrity and follow-through.  

She is the recipient of numerous prestigious industry recognitions including B2B Magazine’s Marketer of the Year, Advertising Women of New York’s Impact Award, IAB's Gold MIXX, a Webby, and JWT's Best Marketing During the Recession. She serves on several startup Advisory Councils including for Betterment and Teal, and is a guest lecturer on the subject of “Entrepreneurship in Large Organizations” at Princeton University. Marcy holds an M.B.A. from the New York University Stern School of Business with a concentration in information technology and marketing, a Master’s from Villanova University and an undergraduate degree from Gonzaga University.  

Marissa Neal is a strategic creative leader, currently the Creative Director of Global Marketing at WeWork. Over the past two years, she’s guided the workplace performance brand through a time of unprecedented hypergrowth and evolution. Focused on brand development and storytelling, she’s inspired by the future of work and WeWork’s leading role. Previously, she was the VP of Creative at Nielsen, the world’s top measurement company, where she oversaw the creation and global roll out of its award-winning brand identity to 40,000 associates in over 100 countries.

Marissa is passionate about building strong connections and experiences—between brands and their audiences, within growing teams, and across companies of all sizes. She’s a champion for design thinking to solve business challenges and finds inspiration in the everyday.  

Marissa’s commitment to the design and marketing fields has led to several industry awards such as Transform Awards for Best Brand Evolution and GDUSA In-House Design Award for Corporate Identity. Marissa earned her Bachelor of Graphic Design from North Carolina State University’s College of Design. She lives in Brooklyn, NY.
