I am a Professor at the University of Michigan’s School of Information. I received my Ph.D. in Human-Computer Interaction from Carnegie Mellon. I have published papers in highly ranked HCI venues, including the ACM Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems, the ACM Conference on Computer-Supported Work and Social Computing, and I am an ACM Distinguished Member. My work has contributed to the literature on peer-to-peer applications and studies on the future of work. It has broader impacts that inform the efforts of universities, adult education, the technology industry, and foundations that support job seekers across socioeconomic divisions.
