What attracted you to the Keller Center?
I was first introduced to the Keller Center through a fellow student. She had been passionately developing ideas for a project and was ready to actively pursue its creation through a position in the eLab summer incubator. The reason I was attracted to the Keller Center was for its readiness to support passions similar to this one through expert guidance and financial support. This gives students at this university a unique opportunity to truly engage in their interests, and helps them to succeed while doing so.
What do you appreciate most about the Keller Center?
What I appreciate most about the Keller Center is its efforts to bridge various academic disciplines. As an AB computer science major, I have prevailing interests across both the humanities and STEM which I try to balance every semester, and the eLab summer incubator allows me to continue both of these pursuits over the summer. I am also pursuing a Keller Center certificate: the Program in Technology and Society (Information Technology Track). This allows me to supplement my computer science classes with courses which explore the societal impacts of this technology, better equipping me for a socially conscious path post-graduation.
What are your academic or career goals?
As a sophomore in the CS department, I'm only now beginning to get a sense for just how many paths and opportunities there are within this field. As such, my academic and career goals are still being shaped by everything I read, hear, try, and code. After graduation, I plan to go straight into software engineering. No matter which company, my goal is to be coding impact driven projects, aimed at helping and positively influencing many others. I plan to go to graduate school after several years in the industry, and am excited to see where life takes me!
