What attracted you to the Keller Center?

The diversity of programs and their intersection into various disciplines (such as public health and healthcare) really drew me into the Keller Center. Specifically, as an aspiring healthcare professional, I find myself asking how might we strive to develop a more empathetic, understanding, and responsive healthcare culture; through the Tiger Challenge and other design thinking workshops, I've learned to empathize with stakeholders, understand perspectives, and craft human-centered solutions to tackle pressing healthcare issues.

What do you appreciate most about the Keller Center?

I truly appreciate the relentless hours of work put in by Jessica and the Associates, Ivy and Ryan. Their incredible dedication to preparing workshops, activities, lessons, and simply listening to my thoughts really helped me feel empowered and heard throughout the entirely of the summer!

Share an inspiring story about your time at the Keller Center.

A few days prior to our final presentation, my team and I were able to conference with Rob Van Varick and Jessica (about our presentation and the general layout of the slideshow). The comments and suggestions which both Jessica and Rob gave our team were truly so helpful -- not only for design purposes, but also for creating a more cohesive storyline to help our audience understand our design thinking and research process.

What advice would you have for students about getting involved at the Keller Center?

I would recommend discussing ideas with peers and advisors. The people at the Keller Center are there to assist you, talk to you, and work through ideas.

How have you benefited from your involvement with the Keller Center?

It's really shown me how applicable design thinking can be to a variety of issues and endeavors -- beyond Tiger Challenge!
