Plates is the first-ever college-specific fitness app. Plates has colleges' cafeteria menus, allow users to log what they eat, help users set calorie and macronutrient goals according to their goals, and provides visualizations of different serving sizes of cafeteria foods so users know how much to eat. Meal tracking is very popular and useful for people trying to meet a fitness goal, but current meal tracker apps (ex. MyFitnessPal) are not suited for college environments since they do not have college menus, do not teach students about portioning, are not sensitive to students with eating disorders, and do not help students make intelligent eating decisions.
