Research Scholar Nicoleta Acatrinei is currently working with Trenton Mayor Reed Gusciora to provide data and analysis from city business owners and municipal employees to address inequities and challenges through public policy reform.

Acatrinei has developed a comprehensive survey to collect data regarding the diversity, inclusion, and work-life balance within Trenton's business community. Her project My Trenton is also gathering valuable information regarding racial biases concerning COVID-19 response and treatment in the city. This project will directly impact the working conditions of thousands of employees of the City of Trenton.

Having community members share their stories and experiences, Acatrinei and her team can provide insights for policymaking and help the Trenton community strengthen its workforce. The survey is anonymous, user friendly, and only takes about 20 minutes to complete.  Acatrinei began this project intending to improve public policy, design, and delivery in Trenton. "The purpose of this project is to serve the community better," she said.
