The world is in transition and there is an opportunity to challenge current paternalistic and institutional approaches to social change. Rather than relying on saviors, anointed leaders, and institutions, we are seeing new generations using technology to lead their own change. This class will explore historic and current models where the dominant approach is based on mutuality, sharing and working together. Students will apply their learning by participating in a current global project to grow the economy of Liberia, West Africa. Students will conduct interviews and document what are Liberians doing to improve their own country.
