I am a Lecturer in the Molecular Biology Department where I teach two laboratory courses (MOL320 and MOL350) and an introductory molecular biology course (MOL214). I have a PhD in Cancer Biology from the University of Wisconsin Madison where I studied the role of the E6 protein in the HPV life cycle. Afterwards, I completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Yale University in Haifan Lin’s lab where I studied the role of Piwi in Drosophila germline stem cells. I continue studying the role of Piwi in one of the two undergraduate laboratory courses that I teach. I am passionate about student learning so that students succeed both in class today and in their future careers.
