Host an Intern

Since launching in 2016, the Princeton Startup Immersion Program (PSIP) has proudly partnered with over 100 global innovative startups. Our inaugural Bengaluru, India cohort in 2023 was an exciting and successful addition to the program that we are proud to continue. We encourage you to explore how you can be a part of PSIP's 10-week summer internship program. As an internship host, you will welcome top Princeton University undergraduate and graduate students from all academic disciplines to join your team. Applicants will apply to your internship openings through a rigorous and competitive application process that includes a challenge puzzle provided by each startup. The challenge puzzle is intended to showcase the applicants’ creativity and problem solving aptitude.

What are the dates of the internship?

Students move in May 31 and get acclimated to the area for several days before starting work.  The final work day is August 8 and students return home the following day.  Over the course of the 10-week internship, there will be several days reserved for cohort-wide excursions communicated to you before the start of the program (2025 schedule TBD).

Will interns be remote or in-person?

We want nothing more than to have our students work side-by-side with their internship host. By design, PSIP provides interns with valuable hands-on experience within the entrepreneurial ecosystem in addition to an immersive cultural experience in their chosen destination. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we pivoted to a remote structure to meet the safety and travel challenges. We are excited that all locations are back to the 100% in-person structure integral to the PSIP program.

What can startups expect from PSIP interns?

We are very proud of the high caliber Princeton students who’ve participated in PSIP each summer. PSIP is open to undergraduate and graduate students of any academic major. Our applicants are entrepreneurial in spirit and innovative in nature. They have excellent verbal and written English abilities, top-notch technical skills and are motivated and self-driven learners. PSIP students are savvy consumers with perspectives of the U.S. and other international markets, languages and cultures.

Here are examples of what startup hosts have said about their interns:

"It's difficult to overpraise A. We have had other interns who were all exceptional. But A. makes things difficult for our future interns in that she set the bar much higher, really way beyond what we expected."

—G.R., CTO, ClearOPS, New York

" B., you truly rocked our worlds this summer! We couldn’t have driven the amount of impact we did without your help. You were constantly on the frontlines of key issues … we can’t wait to keep up with all of your future ventures and successes!”

—K.E., Impact Manager, Speakable, New York

"N. exceeded all expectations, above and beyond. We kept challenging him and he kept exceeding expectations. Some of the code he wrote will make it to production shortly."
—O.R., CIO, Syte, Tel Aviv

What is the startup host's financial commitment?

  • New York City: Startups provide each intern a $3,000 stipend.
  • International: Startups consider an intern allowance for incidentals, amount to be determined by the company.
